The Panama Lowlands: Maximum Biodiversity
Panama offers some of the most amazing birding experiences this planet has to offer. As someone who has specialized in leading tours to this country for nearly two-decades, I am devoted to exposing others to the tremendous bird diversity, conservation issues and local cultures of this small but vital Central American Country. During this 5-day tour, we will visit the extremely biodiverse Central Lowlands – our lodging will be at the breathtaking confluence of the Chagres River and the Panama Canal and we will spend our days birding the sprawling Soberania National Park and nearby areas. We will experience the dawn chorus from atop a canopy tower as parrots, toucans, flycatchers, tanagers and orioles join howler monkeys, sloths and anteaters to greet the day. We will visit the famed Pipeline Road and we will take day trip to the town of El Valle de Anton, which sits in the caldera of a dormant volcano. During this tour you will be treated like family by local Panamanians, and you will enjoy extremely comfortable lodging and dining experiences - all while remaining just minutes away from some of the best birding spots on earth.
